Abstract

This case study discusses how the inventory organization process of an auto parts company occurs, as well as demonstrating its importance for management. With this, it seeks to portray in a practical way the relevance of inventory management as a means of internal control in a local institution. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a review of the literature divided into in-depth insights into the concept of stock; inventory management; materials management; prevention of sales and breakdowns; inventory; accuracy; storage and movement, in order to deepen knowledge about the topic covered. In this sense, to guide this study, a qualitative/quantitative approach was used to analyze the inventory organization of an automotive parts company through interviews, observations and data collection through the inclusion of inventory practices. The results obtained were that management includes functions such as purchasing, monitoring and storage, and is essential to ensure that supplies are adequate and not surplus or scarce. Inventory control involves inventory, recording and optimization with the aim of improving efficiency and reducing operating costs.
