This article intends to present Project Based Learning (PBL) as an active methodology applied to Early Childhood Education. It presents a brief theoretical study on the constitution of daycare centers in Brazil to understand this educational space. Considerations about Project Based Learning, an active methodology proposed for the age group served, are also addressed. In the reflective process on the application of this methodology in the pedagogical practice of daycare, considering mainly the ideas of Barbosa and Horn (2008), possibilities are presented regarding its applicability in the daily classroom both in daycare and in preschool.
