This scientific article addresses the importance of games in children's education in early childhood education, using a literature review methodology to examine the impact of these activities on child development. Early childhood education is a crucial period in a child's life, as it lays the foundations for their cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth. The literature review highlights that games play a fundamental role in children's learning and development. By participating in playful activities, children acquire important skills such as problem solving, communication, creativity and cooperation. Furthermore, these activities promote the development of motor coordination and the understanding of abstract concepts, such as mathematics and language. The research emphasizes that play and games in early childhood education provide an active and meaningful learning environment in which children can explore, experiment and express their ideas creatively. This contributes to building a solid foundation for future learning. Furthermore, the article highlights that play is the natural way in which children explore the world around them, developing their cognitive and emotional skills in an intrinsically motivated way. Therefore, educators play a vital role in creating environments that encourage and value play and games as educational tools. In summary, the research concludes that games play a crucial role in children's education in early childhood education, contributing to children's holistic development and preparing them for academic and social success in the future. Therefore, it is essential that educators recognize the importance of these activities and integrate them in a meaningful way into their pedagogical practices in early childhood education.
