Abstract

This objective of this work was to demonstrate the importance of building projects of life with alchol users as a resource for risk mitigation, re-signifying the alcohol abuse and the return for an active life. This is a study of a national literature review, in which the SciELO, PePSIC, LILACS and Google Scholar databases were consulted between the years of 2012 and 2022. Therefore, it was feasible to comprehend the seriousness and effects of alcohol misuse in the different facets of individuals lives and how the lack of life goals leads to relapses and continual escalation of alcohol consumption. It was concluded that, despite the challenges, this is a promising field in which psychologists have a fundamental role to play in understanding the historical and psychosocial context of those who use alcohol, facilitating the process of self-awareness and redefining use, and enabling users to find new meaning in their lives.
