THE EFFECTS OF VIRTUAL REALITY FOR THE REHABILITATION OF POST-CVA PATIENTS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

This article proposed to carry out a review of the literature in order to verify the effects of virtual reality (VR) aimed at patients suffering from cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) that cause deficits in their motor and cognitive function, interfering with their activities of daily living. and quality of life, in this case physiotherapy is the main means of rehabilitation and as an alternative way of treatment for the patient to feel more motivated with the therapeutic approach, VR is proposed. Therefore, the objective of this literary review is to analyze the effectiveness of VR as a playful means within therapeutic conduct. Scientific literature researched in the PubMed and Scielo databases, without language restrictions, from the last 11 years was used. It is concluded that VR can promote positive effects in post-stroke rehabilitation. Despite the articles found, more studies are needed to analyze and develop better confirmation of the effectiveness of Virtual Reality therapy.
