Education plays an essential role in training future generations, and teachers have a responsibility to guide and inspire students. However, the teaching profession is facing significant challenges related to teachers' mental illness, many of which are being attributed to a toxic work environment and poor management of educational teams. This study aims to investigate the correlation between toxic management and mental illness among teachers through an in-depth analysis of case reports. We explore real-life experiences of educators who have faced toxic work environments, where leaders adopted harmful practices, causing stress, anxiety and mental burnout. By examining these cases, we identify patterns of toxic behavior on the part of managers and analyze the direct impacts on teachers' mental health. This study highlights the urgency of recognizing and addressing toxic management in educational institutions to protect the health and emotional well-being of teachers. To this end, the methodology adopted was that of an academic essay, which consisted of a critical analysis and synthesis of literature studies on toxic management and the mental health of teachers. Finally, it is concluded that it is necessary to promote strategies to combat toxic management in the school environment to have a healthy, respectful and ethical workplace for teachers, thus guaranteeing the quality of teaching and the future of the next generations.
