Abstract

The toy library is an educational space for children in Early Childhood Education, with the aim of promoting cognitive and social development in a playful and enjoyable way. In this environment, children can explore different materials and toys, develop creativity and imagination, practice socialization and learn in a more autonomous and authentic way. The toy library is an important pedagogical resource that can be used by teachers to complement and enrich the teaching-learning process in the early stages of schooling. For the toy library to be effective, it is essential that there is a safe and welcoming environment and that teachers and staff are engaged in encouraging the participation and interaction of children with the available toys and activities.
