This article aims to analyze the impact of implementing active methodologies in the Physics discipline, within the scope of Youth and Adult Education (YAE) in prisons. To this end, the research methodology was the theoretical essay, which consisted of the synthesis and criticism of the literature on the topic. The research showed how the adoption of interactive pedagogical strategies can revolutionize the educational scenario within the prison system. Applying active methodologies such as group problem solving, hands-on experimentation, and discussions not only piques students' interest but also improves knowledge retention and promotes critical thinking skills. It is concluded, therefore, that it is necessary to rethink EJA in prisons, seeking student-centered approaches to effectively transform the educational environment. Through these practices, not only is the understanding of physics enhanced, but also the educational and social perspectives of inmates are expanded, preparing them for more effective reintegration into society upon their release.
