GAMIFICATION AS AN ALTERNATIVE FOR THE LEARNING PROCESS IN THE SUBJECT OF BIOLOGY

This article discusses the use of a gamified activity, as an option for the learning and evaluation process, and aims to explore the implementation of gamification in Biology teaching, inspired by experiences during the conducting phase of a supervised internship. The study was applied in a Full Time State School located in the municipality of Lábrea, in the interior of Amazonas. The method was well accepted by the students who were engaged and showed greater interest in the exposed content, in addition to encouraging discussion of the topics addressed in the classroom and improving the relationship between teacher and student. The results showed that the use of a dynamic and varied language can be more commonly adopted in school curricula, and the incorporation of game elements in the teaching methodology can facilitate the understanding of concepts, reinforce learning, promote sociability, creativity, the spirit of cooperation and competition.
