Abstract

The purpose of this book is to provide a brief overview of the perception of childhood in the Brazilian scenario and the legislation related to Early Childhood Education, Elementary School I and, therefore, also to music education, in order to understand musicalization at school.
Such perspectives are based on authors and documents such as: the Federal Constitution of 1988, the Law of Basic Education Guidelines and National Common Curricular Base that deal with this theme, for purposes of proposals related to early childhood education and music teaching. In learning, music is important, because students begin to accept music from a very young age, and most children enjoy listening to songs and singing.
Listening to and learning music and songs is part of music education, in addition to providing opportunities for play, it also stimulates and develops musical taste, coexistence and socialization.
This book, therefore, offers an overview of music as an important form of artistic expression for the formation and education of subjects in Early Childhood Education and Elementary School I, defining the foundations of music education to develop sensitivity and musical knowledge. As a result, it emphasizes the musical language as a practical aspect of human life and defends its inclusion in the basic school curriculum.
