This scientific article aims to discuss the importance of psychomotricity and playing as significant influences in the learning process in early childhood education. Psychomotricity refers to the relationship between mental processes and motor skills, while playing is a fundamental recreational activity for the child's development. First, we address the importance of psychomotricity in the educational context. Through psychomotricity, children develop motor, sensorial and cognitive skills, fundamental for the construction of knowledge. Play allows children to experiment, discover, create and solve problems in a safe and enjoyable environment. In addition, we discuss the relationship between psychomotricity and playing, highlighting how these two dimensions are interconnected in the learning process. Playing promotes movement, stimulating children's psychomotor development, while psychomotricity provides the basis for playing more meaningfully and effectively. This interaction between psychomotricity and playing enhances the child's global development, positively influencing their learning ability. Finally, we emphasize the importance of educational practices that value psychomotricity and playing in early childhood education. Teachers and educators play a vital role in promoting these activities, creating learning environments that encourage exploration, experimentation and free play. We highlight the need for pedagogical approaches that integrate psychomotricity and playing in a transversal and intentional way, recognizing their influence on the learning process and the integral development of children.
