Abstract

The creation of social gender roles generates stereotypes that can be seen even in the justice system. When faced with such situations, the Inter-American Human Rights System issues decisions that, in addition to having a legal and political impact on the domestic system, are reflected in the social environment through judicial policies, modifying the socio-cultural awareness related to discrimination against women.
