OSTEOPATHY IN THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE ELDERLY: LITERATURE REVIEW

Introduction: With the increase of the elderly observed in recent decades, the search for aging with quality of life has become one of the great challenges for our society, in aging there is a need to control diseases considering the well-being of the elderly. Objective: To describe osteopathy in the elderly, considering interventions for quality of life. Materials and methods: This is a bibliographic review of articles and texts from national and international literature, available in published online databases. 13 articles used for this research were found evaluated, the time frame was from 2017 to 2022. Results: The success of the treatment depends on combinations in the care line that best meet the needs of patients affected by osteopathies, studies show that practices or strategies that respond to the expanded needs of the elderly population that promote self-care are necessary. Conclusion: The osteopathy is considered a broad approach, which positively interferes with the health of the elderly, so that, when reaching the family and the environment, osteopathic intervention contributes to an improvement in the quality of life.
