PROPOSAL FOR CHANGE OF LAYOUT IN A WAREHOUSE OF A COMPANY IN THE GRAPHIC SEGMENT

Abstract

This article discusses a case study of a proposal to change the layout of the storeroom of company “X” located in the neighborhood of Mooca, in the city of São Paulo in the graphic area and analyzes whether this layout is suitable for the correct packaging of materials in that storeroom, aiming at economy, practicality, performance and operator comfort. The justification for this objective lies in the correct, responsible and technical use of the capital invested at the time of purchase, and in the correct way in which the various materials currently acquired by the company are stored there until they are moved to perform their functions. Designed to minimize loss and damage due to lack of compatible layouts. Any company must improve its resource management, constantly seeking economy, practicality and agility in its actions, and in this view, company “X” cannot be excluded from this context. As a way of deepening the question and obtaining concrete and reliable answers, the study sought to compare the current warehouse of Company 'X' with the layouts it uses or not, and the minimum necessary to adopt an adequate layout. The bibliographic research of several authors related to the areas of production management and materials management is important, clearly showing the dimensions of the problem and how to deal with it.
