THE USE OF QUICK RESPONSE CODE IN THE INDUSTRY: A NARRATIVE LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

A quick response (QR) code is a type of bar code that stores information and can be read by a digital device such as a cell phone. This study aims to identify the main advantages and challenges of using the QR Code in industry, as well as examples of its successful application in different contexts. This is a bibliometric research, the following keywords were applied: QR CODE X INDÚSTRIA; QUICK-RESPONSE CODE X INDUSTRY; and their English counterparts in the following databases: Google Scholar and Scielo, from 2018. The results showed that in a total of 11 articles QR codes have gained popularity as a marketing tool and have been applied in various industries, in different departments. It was concluded that the QR Code is a versatile and effective tool, capable of optimizing processes, reducing costs and improving efficiency, its use can bring numerous benefits, from inventory control and logistics to internal communication, and companies need to pay attention to trends and new technologies that may appear in the market.
