THE PERFORMANCE OF THE COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL PSYCHOLOGIST IN THE CLINICAL MANAGEMENT OF BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER

This study intends to help Psychology professionals in better practices in order to raise awareness and humanize the psychotherapeutic care in patients with Borderline Personality Disorder. In this work, the method used is the narrative review, the BPD includes a set of factors that explain its etiology, the main ones are: experiences of separation and loss, child abuse, troubled and chaotic domestic environments, early separation from parental figures, loss of childhood in addition to genetic influences. In this way of existing, people do everything in their power to avoid real or imagined abandonment. Emotional dysregulation stems from interactions between biological vulnerabilities and an invalidating social environment. The overall objective of clinical management is the patient's emotional regulation and the reduction of suffering through the development of psychological skills.
