INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IN BRAZILIAN PUBLIC HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The present work aims to review the main legislation that deals with inclusive education in Brazilian public higher education. This modality was established in Brazil after international events that marked the educational scope of the country, reflecting positively on its legal system. The Federal Constitution of 1988 guarantees that everyone has the right to education, inclusion allows people with disabilities to have this right guaranteed.People with disabilities in Brazil went through a period of social segregation that ended up influencing the educational sector, where they studied in separate places without social participation. Inclusion emerges to demonstrate that diversity is important and must be welcomed, everyone must learn together without any type of discrimination. Students with disabilities have the right to a quality education.
