Abstract

For most people, retirement is a long-awaited phase, a time of more tranquility and rest. But is it really possible to maintain a standard of living in retirement comparable to the standard lived in the labor phase? Is joining a supplementary pension plan a personal benefit related to retirement? Will pension reform really have a big impact on retirees and society? This article aims to address the concept of supplementary pension, describing its structure, size and reliability, relating it to the social security reform, highlighting its main changes and the relevance of supplementary pension together with social security.
