This article aimed to understand the role of nurses in aesthetic healthcare from the perspective of current professional regulations, highlighting the importance of the aesthetic consultation and the impact of procedures on patients' lives. This is an integrative literature review conducted using the PubMed/MEDLINE, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), Nursing Database (BDENF), and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases. The review includes articles published between 2021 and 2026, written in Portuguese, available in full text, and relevant to the topic under investigation. The results demonstrate that aesthetic nursing is a growing field of practice, supported by resolutions from the Federal Nursing Council (COFEN) that establish guidelines for professional conduct. It was found that the aesthetic consultation, when integrated with the Nursing Process, facilitates individualized assessment, procedure planning, and the prevention of potential complications. Furthermore, aesthetic procedures can enhance patients' self-esteem, self-image, and overall well-being. It is concluded that the practice of aesthetic nursing offers an opportunity for professional expansion, requiring specialized qualification, continuous professional development, ethical responsibility, and humanized care. Additionally, there is a need for further research regarding the effectiveness of these procedures and the impact of the aesthetic consultation on patient care.
