Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a complex clinical syndrome that markedly impairs cardiac function and patients’ quality of life. Characterized by the heart's inability to maintain adequate cardiac output to meet metabolic demands, CHF is associated with high morbidity and mortality, particularly among adults and older adults with comorbidities. This qualitative bibliographic study discusses nursing care in the management of CHF, emphasizing the need for systematic, humanized, and evidence-based practice. Clinical manifestations, principal nursing diagnoses, and interventions aimed at promoting self-care and preventing complications are reviewed. The findings indicate that Nursing Care Systematization (SAE) is pivotal for improving prognosis and reducing hospital readmissions.
