This work is a qualitative thematic literature review. The objective was to analyze Brazilian academic production over the last ten years on the teaching of Biological Evolution from the perspective of Extended Synthesis and Eco-Evo-Devo, aiming to map the academic production accessed in open databases to understand which aspects and dimensions are being highlighted or privileged. The goal was to inventory the production to identify knowledge gaps. In total, seventeen academic works were evaluated: eight dissertations, seven theses, and two articles. The works were grouped into two main themes: education and epistemology. The results show that the main thematic sub-focus is teacher training, given the challenges to implementing the contemporary approach in teaching practice, accentuated by the lack of teaching materials and public policies that guide and encourage its inclusion in undergraduate curricula.
