This article aimed to analyze the scientific evidence on Mangifera indica L. and its pharmaceutical applications, focusing on its phytochemical composition, pharmacological activities, phytotherapy, safety, toxicity, and technological potential. An integrative, descriptive, and qualitative literature review was conducted using the PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, SciELO, LILACS, and BVS databases, considering publications from 2016 to 2026. A total of 45 studies were selected and analyzed regarding the main bioactive compounds, biological activities, therapeutic applications, and safety aspects. The results demonstrated broad phytochemical diversity, particularly phenolic compounds, flavonoids, tannins, benzophenones, and mangiferin, mainly associated with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, gastroprotective, and cardioprotective activities. Technological applications involving nanoemulsions, nanoparticles, functional foods, and the valorization of by-products were also identified. Safety evidence was variable, reinforcing the importance of evaluating doses and preparations. It is concluded that M. indica has significant pharmaceutical and phytotherapeutic potential, although further clinical and toxicological studies are needed
