Psychomotricity is a science of growing importance in individual development across all life stages, particularly due to its integration with other scientific fields such as neurology, psychology, and pedagogy. This is because Psychomotricity considers not only psychomotor aspects but also the cognitive and socio-affective dimensions that shape the individual, aiming to view the human being holistically and regarding the person and their abilities as a vast field for exploration. It is characterized by specific psychomotor elements, including body schema, body image, muscle tone, gross motor coordination, fine motor skills, spatiotemporal organization, rhythm, laterality, and balance. Psychomotor disorders arise from bodily manifestations unrelated to neurological or organic abnormalities; notable examples include psychomotor inhibition, psychomotor instability, dyspraxia, and psychomotor weakness. This study presents a literature review on psychomotricity, covering its definition, psychomotor elements, and associated treatments, based on books and scientific articles sourced from SciELO, Google Scholar, and works by various authors. The results indicate the importance of integrating motor skills into the school's psychopedagogical framework through specific actions and policies that combine motor activity with the student's learning process. It is concluded that the systemic integration of motor skills within the school environment fosters an educational approach that helps students integrate their cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and relational abilities.
