This article retrospectively analyzed the demographic, clinical and surgical profile of 188 patients submitted to cardiovascular surgery at the Hospital de Base of the Federal District (HBDF) between October 2019 and December 2022, a period that encompasses the service reactivation and the COVID-19 pandemic. Data extracted from electronic medical records were treated through descriptive statistics and the chi-square and Mann-Whitney tests, with a significance level of 5%. The sample revealed a predominance of male patients (64.4%), a mean age of 58.5 years among men and a high prevalence of systemic arterial hypertension (81.4%), dyslipidemia (47.9%) and smoking (41.0%). Myocardial revascularization accounted for 62.2% of procedures, the reoperation rate was 6.4%, the incidence of postoperative infection reached 27.6% and perioperative mortality stood at 1.6%, with a mean hospital stay of 41.5 days. Infection was associated with significantly longer hospitalizations (p = 0.0001). It is concluded that, despite the complexity of the cases, surgical outcomes remained compatible with international standards, leaving the improvement of infection control protocols and perioperative management as a priority.
