COMMUNICATION IN FAMILY SYSTEMS – A LITERARY REVIEW

Abstract

Linguistic practice can be understood as being determining and fundamental for the homeostatic functioning of all family systems, without efficient communication the essence of evolution and development of the family's life cycle crystallizes into legacies, myths and dysfunctional triangulations, which, inevitably culminate in relational conflicts. The present study aims to carry out a literary review that makes it possible to identify the dimensional bases of language that make up the family system, as well as to analyze communication patterns that influence its members in the organization in thoughts and behaviors from the perspective of Family Therapy, reflecting possible contributions of non-violent communication to help resolve family problems. We can consider that based on the proposal of this research, communication complications distance family members, converging into conflicts that continue throughout life. We found that non-violent communication helps in dealing with family problems, mitigating conflicts and making them more empathetic.
