NETWORK CHILDHOOD: THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGIES IN CHILDREN’S CULTURAL CONSTRUCTION

Abstract

In the contemporary scenario, children are immersed in a reality strongly influenced by Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), which transforms their experiences of interaction and cultural production. This article addresses the change in the perception of children as active agents in the construction of their own culture, highlighting the importance of ICTs in this context. The need for schools to adapt their educational practices to accommodate this new reality is discussed, recognizing children as protagonists of their learning. Additionally, emphasis is placed on the importance of integrating knowledge of contemporary children's cultures and ICTs into the school curriculum, aiming to prepare children for critical and ethical participation in the digital society of the 21st century.
