This article presents an educational resource aimed at high school education, exploring Mathematical Modeling as a strategy for teaching Linear Systems and Functions. The proposal uses the dengue epidemic in Dourados-MS as a generating theme, transposing complex concepts of Differential Equations into an accessible language through the 'leaky bucket' analogy. The resource includes the use of Python simulations, allowing students to investigate the impact of control measures on the Basic Reproduction Number ( ). This approach is expected to promote more dynamic and contextualized learning, as advocated by Bassanezi (2002), connecting mathematical rigor to the real challenges of public health.
