The need to improve the teaching and learning process is a pressing concern. Thus, this study aims to address the difficulties students face when solving certain limits, often perceived as almost insurmountably complex. In informal discussions and in Calculus I classes (Analysis I for the context of other countries), students expressed a lack of mastery in solving limits, mainly due to the inadequate handling of the insertion of homogeneous terms in the operations. This situation defines the research problem, and to address it, it is necessary to develop a theoretical framework that presents a series of procedures enabling the proper handling of these limit operations in terms of , as well as e as homogeneous terms of the respective functions.
