Abstract

This article deals with the teaching practice related to the teaching of the discipline of geography in our country, as this science is considered a curricular component applied in schools with significant relevance in basic education. In our research it was possible to carry out reflections on the teaching of this subject in the school context, in addition we discussed methodological practices and the duties of the teacher of the discipline in the classroom. To implement this discussion, the article aimed to discuss the new teaching practices in the teaching of geography in our country. Thus, this study is classified in a bibliographic review with a qualitative descriptive approach, making use of analysis of articles and websites, making the survey of questions pertinent to the theme. The research enabled the understanding that the teaching of geography can be instrumentalized through innovative tools that seek to improve the process of assimilation of content taught in the classroom.
