This study analyzes collaborative learning and literacy in the development of reading and writing. This practice provides more active learning by stimulating critical thinking and the ability to interact, negotiate information, solve problems, and self-regulate in the teaching-learning process. This occurs due to the sharing that exists between students in the school environment, mediated by teachers. Through a literature review, the study shows that collaborative learning, especially in the areas of writing, interpretation, and reading, is fundamental for student development, contributing to decision-making and the development of teamwork, essential skills in school life.
