This article aimed to analyze how the caves of the Peixe Bravo Valley can be used as a pedagogical resource in science education in state schools in Grão Mogol-MG. The study consisted of qualitative and exploratory research, based on a bibliographic review of secondary sources related to the Peixe Bravo Valley and speleology, prioritizing works on the caves of the region and their pedagogical potential. The results showed that the caves of the Peixe Bravo Valley contain paleontological, archaeological, and biological records of great scientific value. These elements, still little explored in education, have high pedagogical potential for working with science in an interdisciplinary way, strengthening scientific literacy, territorial belonging, and environmental conservation. It is concluded that the experience with the caves of the Peixe Bravo Valley favors scientific literacy, territorial belonging, and heritage and environmental education. Furthermore, the conservation of the region and its educational use are interdependent, and the school plays a central role in the formation of critical citizens committed to sustainability.
