Abstract

This study explores the challenge and opportunities of integrating storytelling into pedagogical practices and management strategies in public elementary schools. With limited resources, but equipped with basic physical and technological infrastructure, these institutions are at a crucial point in strengthening educational quality. Quality in education, as investigated, encompasses not only the transmission of knowledge, but also the promotion of dynamic, meaningful and engaging learning, essential for the development of critical and analytical skills in students. It was identified that the effective adoption of storytelling can be a catalyst for achieving this objective, enriching the teaching-learning process and, by extension, improving the overall quality of the education offered. Through a review of specialized literature, it was observed that the successful implementation of storytelling in educational environments requires proactive school management, capable of planning and cohesively integrating this pedagogical practice. This includes targeted investments in ongoing teacher training and updating technological infrastructure, allowing storytelling to be explored to its fullest. Furthermore, the need for continuous assessments is emphasized, which allows adjustments and optimizations in the use of storytelling, ensuring that this approach effectively contributes to students' learning and development objectives. Promoting quality in a school institution, therefore, implies recognizing and implementing strategies that make effective use of available resources, such as storytelling, to create a rich and stimulating learning environment. This highlights the importance of visionary school management, which understands education as an integrated and dynamic process, focused not only on the transmission of content, but on the student's comprehensive training. Through this study, it is concluded that storytelling emerges as a powerful strategy in promoting educational quality, highlighting the relevance of innovative practices in the pedagogical and administrative management of public schools.
