ANALYSIS OF THE COASTAL AND OCEANIC SYSTEM IN THE SEDIMENTARY GEOLOGICAL RECORD OF THE TUTOIA ESTUARINE COMPLEX, IN THE PARNAÍBA DELTA, STATE OF MARANHÃO

Abstract

This article aims to preliminarily characterize the agents of oceanic and estuarine dynamics, taking as an example the dynamics of Tutóia Bay, Maranhão, from the aspects of Environmental Sciences and Earth Sciences through a bibliographical review. Furthermore, this study also aims to contribute to the collection of geoenvironmental data about the region to assist future research on various topics. As a methodology, in addition to the specialized literature review in Environmental Sciences and Earth Sciences, the research was supported by environmental data provided by IBGE and CPRM, cartographic analyzes and geoprocessing via Google Earth and QGIS. From the survey and analysis of these elements, the research was able to elucidate the importance of studying the agents of oceanic and estuarine dynamics, demonstrating that the impacts of oceanic and estuarine agents impact and alter the landscape more slowly and anthropogenic impacts alter the landscape in a more accelerated way. The result of this data integration and analysis process is the creation of a detailed map that illustrates the coastal and oceanic dynamics in the Tutóia region.
