The objective of this study was to analyze stricto sensu scientific productions that address the influence of the neoliberal economic model on public educational policies, especially in Professional and Technological Education, from the perspective of the Federal Institutes of Education, Science, and Technology, to verify the phenomena surrounding this educational modality. The digital collection of the Brazilian Library of Theses and Dissertations and the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel were used to survey the 29 qualitatively analyzed productions, including theses and dissertations, from 2008 to 2024, categorized by thematic axes that served as search terms. The data reveal that international organizations with a neoliberal bias have a direct influence on public educational policies, particularly in professional education, linked to a greater inclination of training toward the labor market, distancing it from its emancipatory character and approaching Human Capital Theory. Finally, there was a verified need to institute continuous monitoring mechanisms for graduates of the Federal Institutes to identify potential distortions of this educational policy, as well as to promote the restructuring of courses through structural and academic support, intensifying the verticalization of training so that this policy is effective in integral human formation.
