INTERFACES BETWEEN SOIL EDUCATION, RURAL EDUCATION, AND AGROECOLOGY: A BIBLIOMETRIC OVERVIEW OF SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION

Abstract

Soil Education has been consolidating itself as a strategic interdisciplinary field aimed at promoting socio-environmental awareness and strengthening educational practices focused on the relationship between society, nature, and territory. In this context, the present study aimed to analyze international scientific production related to Soil Education, Soil Awareness, Rural Education, and Agroecology through a bibliometric approach. The research was conducted using data extracted from the Scopus and Web of Science databases, considering recent publications in the scientific literature. Data processing and analysis were carried out using the R software, through the Bibliometrix package, which enabled the examination of scientific production indicators, collaboration networks among authors, keyword occurrences, and the most relevant journals in the field. The results indicate a progressive increase in publications on Soil Education, highlighting the growing academic interest in the topic. The presence of approaches that engage with Agroecology and Rural Education was also observed, emphasizing educational perspectives oriented toward agroecological transitions in territories and the valorization of local knowledge. It is concluded that this field presents significant potential to contribute to critical educational processes and to the promotion of more sustainable socio-environmental practices.
