Abstract

Industry 4.0 and digital transformation have driven significant changes in production processes, becoming strategic factors for increasing efficiency, productivity, and industrial competitiveness. In this context, this study aimed to analyze—through scientific literature—the challenges and prospects associated with Industry 4.0 and digital transformation regarding the improvement of production process efficiency in the Manaus Industrial Pole. The research is characterized as a narrative literature review employing a qualitative approach, a descriptive nature, and a bibliographic method; it was based on scientific articles, dissertations, and theses sourced from Google Scholar and SciELO. The results demonstrated that the adoption of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, cloud computing, and cyber-physical systems contributes to process integration, waste reduction, production management optimization, and the strengthening of the competitiveness of companies located in the Manaus Industrial Pole. However, challenges were also identified, including high implementation costs, logistical limitations inherent to the Amazon region, and the need for technological infrastructure modernization and workforce upskilling. The study concludes that digital transformation represents an opportunity to consolidate the Manaus Industrial Pole, provided there is increased investment in innovation, infrastructure, professional training, and technological development, thereby fostering the adoption of Industry 4.0 and the modernization of production processes.
