Abstract

The application of technological resources in the assessment process for elementary school students has been the subject of recent studies. Within this context, this research aimed to examine which tools are being used and how school assessments are conducted, as well as to identify the relationship between these technological tools in three elementary schools in Tenente Laurentino Cruz, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. To meet the proposed research objectives, three educational institutions in the municipality were chosen to participate: Senhora Santana Municipal School, Silvino Garcia do Amaral Municipal School, and Florência Maria da Conceição Municipal School. The statistical design was structured with a 3 x 6 factorial, where the first factor corresponded to the aforementioned municipal elementary schools and the second factor comprised six teachers from each of the selected institutions. The main evaluations addressed the use of technological resources in the assessment process, the technical challenges related to the use of these tools by educators, the pedagogical difficulties perceived during the use of technologies in assessments, the barriers to access to technological tools faced by students during the assessment process, and technological innovations in assessment. The results concluded that by adopting digital resources, educators can assess their students in an interactive, engaging, and inspiring way. Thus, digital technologies have successfully transformed the way students are assessed, introducing new tools and more effective and accurate approaches to analyzing learning.
