The role of nurses in relation to patients who require palliative care requires them to have an assertive, firm and adequate posture, given that these types of care are offered with a view to comfort and a better quality of life for the terminally ill patient. Given these facts, the present study aimed to identify and analyze the main challenges encountered by the nursing team in relation to patients in palliative care. In order to obtain the data and information necessary for the foundation of the research in question, the methodology used was bibliographic, through books, scientific articles, magazines, periodicals, theses, dissertations, monographs and other materials of a scientific nature that were deemed relevant. during the course of the study. At the end of this article, what was noticed is that the nursing team still faces a series of challenges in relation to patients in palliative care, the most expressive of which are directly related to their posture and the lack of knowledge on how to act in a situation like this, in addition to the physical, emotional and psychological burden that caring for terminally ill patients can bring to nurses in a situation like this.
