Abstract

The art of training not only curbs pet misconduct, but also promotes better human-animal relationships, skeptics may perceive commando training as "little robot" training, but it serves a greater purpose beyond showmanship. and the commands are valuable in everyday scenarios such as veterinary appointments and exams. The general objective of this research was to analyze the opinion of the population about the importance of canine training for the coexistence between dogs and people. A link to a closed questionnaire with 10 questions asked on Google Forms was applied via WhatsApp, which had the function of identifying the opinion of this population on the importance of canine training. Most participants recognize the importance of canine training for a harmonious coexistence with their dogs. This involves reducing unwanted behavior, promoting obedience and strengthening the bond between dog and owner. The use of rewards is widely accepted as an effective and ethical training tool. However, financial limitations and lack of knowledge about training options are obstacles that make it difficult to access professional services and adequate information. It is essential to overcome these barriers through accessible educational resources, financial support and awareness of the importance of proper training. Thus, we will be able to create a safe, healthy and harmonious environment for dogs and their guardians.
