Abstract

Introduction: Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a lung lesion present in every newborn who required oxygen therapy with concentrations greater than 21% for more than 28 days, among the risk factors for its occurrence are children born under 34 weeks and weighing less than 2000 grams. Method: A search was carried out in the SciELO, LILACS, PUBMED and Google Scholar databases, and articles with relevance to the research objective were selected. Objective: to identify measures to prevent the development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia, as well as to treat children with the pathology.
