Gastrointestinal parasites are common pathologies in dogs. To the detriment of the close relationship between dogs and humans, many of these diseases, as they are zoonoses, pose a threat to public health. Among the gastrointestinal parasitic zoonoses, cutaneous Larva migrans, visceral Larva migrans, ocular Larva migrans and trichuriasis stand out, as they cause harm to human health. This work aims to analyze the occurrence and prevalence of intestinal parasites in dogs in the urban area of Cacoal - RO. One hundred fecal samples were analyzed using Willis (1921), Hoffman, Pons and Janer (1934) and Coproplus Ultra® techniques. After the survey, 54% of the evaluated animals tested positive for some type of parasite, with Ancylostoma caninum being the most prevalent species. The results obtained in this work show a high frequency of gastrointestinal parasites of zoonotic importance, requiring the adoption of effective preventive measures to preserve the health of the animal and human population.
