Abstract

In order to optimize all stages of civil construction in the AEC branch, much has been discussed about the problems of compatibility between software and practical processes that involve this scope. Its importance is measured, so that the BIM system would enter into this problem, saving unpredictable and incalculable expenses, as well as avoiding rework and, consequently, delays in the delivery of the work. The BIM concept generates new paths in the construction process, leading to interoperability of projects, guiding the execution and organization of systems. This study aims to define and present the BIM concept, through bibliographical references, linking its importance from planning to completion of the work.
