Abstract

In the context of health information, there is the health promotion as the process in which individuals are able to have greater control over their own health, recognizing the importance of power and control over the determinants of health, using the strategies to empower individuals by increasing their participation in the modification of elements relevant to health. The information has become an increasing necessity for any sector of human activity and is essential even if their demand is not orderly or systematic, but resulting only of samples and / or intuitive decisions. This article aims to make a critical reflection on the importance of information about user rights in public health to promoting and encouraging the empowerment and liberation of people, seeing their more active participation on matters related to your health.
