THE ROLE OF PHYSIOTHERAPY IN THE RECOVERY OF PATIENTS WITH ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT INJURY: A LITERATURE REVIEW

The use of a physiotherapeutic protocol in the rehabilitation of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is an important resource in the recovery of the injury. Various resources are used for this purpose. The present study, entitled The role of physiotherapy in the recovery of patients with injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament, proposes to analyze the performance of the physiotherapy professional in the face of a process of recovery from an ACL injury, with the aim of promoting debate and to promote the indispensability of knowledge in favor of the well-being of the patient. Therefore, this research is based on an integrative literature review, based on which ten publications were analyzed, extracting characteristics of the protocols used and their results. For the inclusion of the analyzed texts, works written in Portuguese in the last ten years were chosen, excluding those elaborated in the form of a review. The analyzed publications lead to the ratification of the relevance of the physiotherapeutic contribution in the recovery of patients with ACL injury, in view of the positive evolution of their conditions and return to their functional activities.
