Abstract

The present work deals with the relevance of the Group of Special Actions in the Superintendence of Penitentiary Services - GAES - as a member of Public Security in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, aiming to list its functions in its field of work, in order to that the situations in which they can and should act are clarified, in order to guarantee the rights and duties of the inmates. Initially, there will be a survey of the other special groups active in the scope of public security. In addition, the concept and scope of the work of the Superintendence of Prison Services - SUSEPE will be addressed. And, finally, there will be a study of the legal prediction of the creation and functioning of the referred group, as well as the approach of existing doctrine and news about this theme.
