Abstract

This article aims at a discussion about the transfer of military chaplains to the paid reserve. In view of the change brought about by Law 13.954/19 in the Military Statute, in which the service time of the military necessary for transfer to the paid reserve became 35 years, it is important to question the subject. It is important to highlight that the previous rule on the subject was 30 years and, as there is no explicit change in the specific law for military chaplains, this research becomes valid. The methodology adopted is focused on bibliographical and descriptive research. Thus, the results bring a perspective that the transfer of these military personnel to the paid reserve must follow the general rule, which is the service time of 35 years.
