The use of assessments as didactics is a way to measure the level of knowledge of students, both in schools, universities, courses, as well as in other environments that are not only focused on teaching. This work aims to understand how assessment can contribute to the development of students, proposing different teaching methodologies. A methodology based on bibliographical research was used, addressing teaching and learning concepts, with the use of previous works on the subject in question that will serve as the basis for this research. The results obtained point out that, when conceiving the evaluation as a continuous learning process, the use of formative evaluation and discursive questions is suggested as a type of evaluation and evaluation instrument, respectively.
