Abstract

The railway sector is very specific, even the symbologies used in its electrical diagrams differ from the symbologies used in the industry, and nothing is found on the market that brings the student closer to performing, safely, practice in this sector within a school unit. Thus, this work aimed to reform and modernize a didactic workbench that allowed the incorporation of greater practical knowledge to the teaching of Locomotive Electricity and, also, to the training of Railway Operators. Having the student as the protagonist of his/her training. For this purpose, the workbench with its components used in locomotives, with all operating controls, was renovated and updated to allow delivering professionals to the market with training closer to a real professional scenario. The contact with the master controller, frequency converter, control and direction of rotation of the traction motor and the learning situations that will be developed, provided the necessary skills to work on railway equipment.
