Abstract

This paper discusses the compulsory hospitalization for crack users. Crack is one of the most troubling public health problems in today's society, being a high-powered drug addict and high destructive power and to bring impactful consequences not only for the individual but for the whole society. Since it is not only subject related to health, it is also a social problem bringing therefore a high rate in crime, prostitution and insecurity to other citizens. Thus arises the hypothesis of this work to analyze the compulsory hospitalization as a guarantee of the right to life, the user actually become psychologically and physically unable to account for his conduct, generating disastrous social consequences. The topic title is current and controversial by collision between rights such as the right to life and the right to freedom because the dependent is taken without his consent, in this sense born compulsory hospitalization as a measure to bring back this user to the social world. The main objective is to analyze the compulsory hospitalization in order to defend life, human rights, the dignity of the human person, these guaranteed by the Constitution; Identify the effects of crack and its consequences in society. Conduct a survey on the effectiveness of compulsory hospitalization in a general appearance; Identify public policies to combat Crack. The methodology used is the literature, documentary and field.
