The civil construction sector has been experiencing a significant growth, especially in recent years. However, even with this growth, in Brazil construction methods remain unchanged, using conventional masonry, for example. This constructive method, despite being very durable, has some negative points such as: the demand for a long time to execute the work, considerable waste generation, high material costs, a high structural weight, among others. The present work aims to present the Light Steel Framing construction method, comparing it with conventional masonry, presenting analyzes between cost benefit, execution time, execution mode, and thus make a comparison between both. As a result, it concludes that although Light Steel Framing is faster to execute, the final construction value is very high compared to conventional masonry, thus making it a construction model that is economically unfeasible in the national territory. Mainly due to the high cost of galvanized steel.
